FAQ – Leap Day Promotion

These are questions I have received over the last couple days about mobile marketing and the Leap Day promotion
specifically. Thought you might like to know the answers to these questions too.

Q:
it’s unlikely I will have time to do both programs in just 5 weeks so how long will I have access to all this information after I pay?
– Phillip

A:
Good news, you can go through the BOOTCAMPs at your own pace and have unlimited access to the material.

Q:
I am interested in mobile websites as it ties in with an SMS marketing business I started. But when you say “provide mobile websites,” could you be more specific about what your class teaches. Designing, reseller, etc? I have no design experience. Thanks for the clarification.

– Steve

A:
The great news, Steve, is that you don’t need design experience or technical know-how around website building at all. In the Mobile Web BOOTCAMP, I teach what you need to know about the strategy of mobile websites – what needs to go on them – as well as how to build them.

The building part is done with mobile website building software that is not technical at all and it takes care of the design aspect for you. Truly, it is more important that you focus on the content plan for the mobile site than the design anyway.

There are several options for mobile website building tools that you could use to build sites. You do not need to know how to build websites from scratch in order to run a successful mobile web business.

Q:
How long would you estimate before SMS saturates and people ignore them too?

– Roy

A:
Great question, Roy. I don’t think people will ever stop reading SMS messages as they come in to their phones. As long as it is a method of immediate communication with family and friends people will automatically look to see if it is a personal SMS message arriving.

However, people will certainly reach a point where they are extremely selective about what SMS campaigns they opt in for because they won’t want to receive too many non-personal messages.

This means that it will be hyper critical for you to create great marketing campaigns that really compel people to want to sign up for your SMS campaigns. You will need to create very strong magnetic offers for this.

Both of these concepts are covered in great detail in the SMS BOOTCAMP.

Q:
Great email Kim, I have received some resistance with people adjusting to the fact that their mobile website is hosted on a monthly basis (charge). They appear to be comparing it with their website hosting and wanting to tie it in with the host they’re already paying for.

I can always charge them a yearly fee but am hoping to work out a way they can see the advantage of having someone update it and manage it for them.

– Kylie

A:
As a business owner myself I always prefer the option that does not include a monthly fee. However, with mobile websites what your clients need to understand is that the technology that builds and hosts their mobile site is providing a huge benefit for them.

That benefit is assessing exactly which mobile device is attempting to read the site at any given moment and serving that phone the perfect mobile version of the site. So the iPhone users get the version that works best on iPhone, an Android HTC Evo would get a version best for that screen and so on for about 5,000 different devices. A basic website hosting company is simply not going to do that. It is so much more than simply hosting of a mobile
website.

Hope that helps. Be sure to see the added Bonus that is being offered to this Leap Day promotion – it is two trainings specifically about how to more effectively sell your mobile marketing services. (Details after the FAQ.)

Q:
Well, I just got this email from you, and I’ve been doing some mobile website building/design for a few clients. And I plan to focus on this area of my online business efforts because I see it as a huge market for the foreseeable future.

However; I just invested in some gear and software and can’t afford your offer in this email right now. I’m curious if you think I could get your “handbook” and read my way into the same info as you’re offering here. In other words, do you think I could take the info from the book and
implement the same things you’re offering? Does that make sense? I’m an extremely fast learner and very adept at self-taught skills. So, what do you think?

– Tony

A:
Tony, my book, The Mobile Marketing Handbook, Second Edition would be a huge benefit to anyone who is building a business in mobile marketing, like you are.

And while there is a ton of information in the book that I also cover in the BOOTCAMPs, it is by no means as comprehensive. The main difference is that the book is mostly about how to use the tools of mobile marketing and the BOOTCAMP is how to build a business using the tools of mobile marketing.

That said, I get it if the budget doesn’t fit right now. Just grab my book at any local bookstore, BN.com or Amazon.com.

Q:
Kim, would this help me to open a mobile marketing company or this will be good if I want to do it for a store or two?

– Sam

A:
The Mobile Marketing BOOTCAMPs are designed for someone who wants to offer mobile marketing to local businesses. There are certainly lots of strategies and tactics in the courses that are great for businesses themselves (stores) to use, however there is a bit of overkill if you are not going to launch your own mobile marketing company selling these powerful tools to other businesses.
